Description

The vibrating bubble column (VBC) is comprised of a batch bubble column mounted on a shaker table. The shaker table provides a vertical oscillation via an eccentric drive mechanism with an adjustable cam-arm linkage, which allows the amplitude to be varied from 1–10 mm independent of vibration frequency. The shaker was powered by a three-phase, 2.2 kW (3 HP) motor (00336ES3EF56C, WEG). The frequency was controlled with variable frequency drive (ATV12HU22M2, Schneider Electric), which could be varied from 7.5 to 50 Hz.
